Highways and Bridges
Assessment and protection of reinforced concrete bridges and highway structures, helping extend service life and reduce maintenance costs.
Reinforced concrete structures are generally very durable structures. However, if contamination from chlorides occurs or the concrete becomes carbonated then corrosion of the reinforcing steel may take place.
Bridges, other highway structures and multi-storey car parks can all suffer from chloride contamination arising from de-icing salts.
Corrosion Prevention Limited can assess structures for corrosion risk, undertake investigative and quantitative surveys. If required, we can then design and specify repair and protection systems, including concrete repairs systems, galvanic anode systems or impressed current cathodic protection systems.
